Michigan Street Car Corruption 2021

Michigan’s car scene is coming to an end as the last few weeks of summer are near. Just one week after one of the United States largest car shows The Woodward Dream Cruise went underway, Lapeer hosted the next streetcar event. Michigan Streetcar Corruption was held Saturday August 28th, as some cars last chance to get on the dragway before the chilly weather takes over.

For eager streetcar owners in Michigan, the season is coming to an exciting end. Last week, the 26th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise went underway Saturday August 21st. The Dream Cruise is one of the most anticipated events of the summer for car lovers, and the event to let people know the season is almost over. In Lapeer at the Lapeer International Dragway, streetcar lovers headed to the track to get one final run in.

Upon those street cars, was youtuber That1320Chick, JoAnna Iacobelli featured her 2019 Whipple supercharged Ford Mustang. Iacobelli came out for a chance to win the winners belt and grand prize of $3,000 after being on an unexpected 10-month hiatus as her car was undergoing work.

Iacobelli is known for her 16.1k YouTube subscribers but is considered an underdog on the track. Over 70 cars attended the one-day event. Iacobelli was a surprise competitor after being voted in to be able to participate in the weekend events.

Christopher Allen, an avid car guy attended the weekend's events. “I was skeptical of how this event would be, but the turnout is amazing and it’s a major event to end this year's car scene,” said Allen. “It was awesome to see my friend make it all the way to finals even though she lost, it was a great race to see,” Allen added.

Despite the loss, Iacobelli was excited to finish out the summer season by shocking the crowd and making it all the way to the final round. Although the season is coming to an end, the car community is eager for next year's events.
