My name is Alysha Lewis, I am currently a master's student in New Media Journalism at Full Sail University after getting my bachelors in Journalism and Communication from Central Michigan University.

 

I am currently seeking to further my education and increase my knowledge on all things concerning journalism. Recently I accepted a position at the Black Lotus, an independent publication in Detroit, MI as a writing intern. Keep up with my recent work on their website linked above, I'm beyond excited for this new opportunity and the chance to network with like-minded individuals.

This past year hasn't been the easiest. upon obtaining my bachelors degree, Covid-19 struck the nation and made it nearly impossible for me to find a job in the media business. During quarantine, I was able to discover that I have a love for blogging, entertainment, and the desire to one day become a successful business owner.

​

After hiding out for a year during the pandemic, I decided to apply for grad school to learn more about journalism and expand my current knowledge. this decision didn't come lightly, I moved out two weeks ago so everything is new to me. It's going to be hard-work, but I'm ready for the challenge.

​

My life is just getting started, but  I'm hoping to become the best version of myself.  

 

Y'all  can expect, the good, the bad, and the ugly. There is no sugarcoating this thing called life, we are going to be on this rollercoaster together going through this adventure. I am still learning, but I want to share the real and raw process of being a young media student. This adventure could either be great or a crazy rollercoaster.
